What is Wartec and Condyline?

Wartec and Condyline comes in diffrent solutions such as cream or liniment. Both treatments contain podophyllotoxin, which targets the cells infected with HPV. 

How to use the treatment

Both Wartec and Condyline are meant for home treatment. It is therefore imperative that you are able to see the genital warts yourself, and that you are able to apply the treatment where needed. 

The solution is applied every morning and evening for 3 days, followed by a 4 day pause. This method is to be repeated for up to 8 weeks. 

Leave the treatment on for at least 8 hours before washing of. 

If you plan to have intercourse, it is a good idea not to apply the solution until after the intercourse, as the solution can dissolve the condom. 

When can you expect a result from the treatment?

The effect varies from person to person. If the treatment has not been satisfyingly effective after 8-12 weeks, we recommend switching to a different type of treatment.

Potential side effects

You might experience some redness, slight pain and superficial wounds in the treatment area. If you experience a more severe skin reaction, we recommend a pause in treatment until the skin has normalized. You can use zink ointment to relive any symptoms.

Infection risk 

Avoid shaving your pubic area, when you have condylomas, as you might spread the virus. 

We recommend using a condom for 2-3 months after successful treatment, to avoid infecting your partner. 

Do you need to tell your partners?

Your partner might also be infected with genital warts, which is why it is important that he/she is also examined.
