Professor of asthma since 2011 and currently taking care of the position as Chair professor of respiratory medicine. We have a Respiratory research unit with 1 clinical associated research professor of asthma, 3 post doc's (1 MD and 2 Mscient) and a group of 7 PhDs employed to take care of respiratory topics as such, and a group of research assistants. Furthermore, a group of permanent staff members including three nurses, one laboratory technician 1 secretary and one economist. We have been awarded as NEXT-center for pulmonary medicine, and due to that we expect to increase our pharmaceutical research with several phase I and II studies. Before NEXT, we were mainly handling phase II trials. Lastly, we have a large sports unit, has been awarded by IOC and a global of excellence, as well as been appointed at by WADA to chair the expert panel of doping.

Skin structure and function studied by noninvasive techniques in normal and diseased skin is a main field of active research since long time. Also adherence to medical treatment has been a line of research. Tattoo and tattoo complications, health issues and toxicology and diagnosis and treatment is a recent major activity with a special outpatient clinic having a large clinical material of cases. This clinic serves a reference in the preparation of coming national and EU regulations of the tattoo industry improving safety. The activities includes a number of PhD projects. Activity in Sweden includes a PhD student working on confocal microscopy of the skin.
